With the climate crisis intensifying, we all need to take a stand to oppose industries and companies responsible for producing massive volumes of greenhouse gas. And we need to support clean energy and plant-based alternatives. One of the most powerful actions we can take is divesting from fossil fuels and livestock production and reinvesting funds in the clean energy and plant-based companies.

While "green-minded consumers" go out of their way to support local farms, and avoid factory farmed products where possible, these same individuals may have pension funds and savings that are invested in major agribusiness operations, fast-food chains and other food companies whose practices they may personally find abhorrent, such as overcrowding, overuse of antibiotics, or overt animal abuse by workers.

Meat Climate Divestment is the removal of investment assets including stocks, bonds, and investment funds from companies involved in livestock production, in an attempt to reduce climate change. The campaign encourages institutions and individuals alike to move their money away from factory farming operations, as well as companies that derive a significant proportion of their profits by either supplying or buying from the industry.

Below is a partial list of livestock companies and their stock symbols. For those interested in learning more, check out the report, Farm Animal Investment Risk & Return.
